THE BEST FOR LAST

Jesus’ first miracle was to make water into wine at the wedding feast. But first the water had to be poured into the containers in obedience at His mother’s directions, “Do everything he tells you to do”, Mary instructed the servants. The guests exclaimed that most hosts give out the best wine in the beginning and then pour the least desirable for them later. It was to their extreme satisfaction that they cried out that the host had saved “The best for last”.  We must first understand that crushed grapes produce the finest wine, then age and mature before serving. Do you see that we are poured out and crushed to become like the very best wine, for the best was saved for last. It is the crushing that produces the sweetest taste, and the grape must be ripe to be able to squeeze out the juice that is to be used for wine. We must not resist the master’s miracle in our lives. We must assent, abide and rest, for then we are made spiritually whole.

Blessed is the one who waits. (Daniel 12:12)
